Most of the clients I have trained have a weight loss goal of some description. I aim to help clients get a better balance between calories consumed and burnt. Focusing on long-term, sustainable changes that promote long-lasting body shape changes, not quick fixes that produce long-term peaks and troughs.
Any movement that raises your heart rate has a wide range of health and well-being benefits including fat burning, mood enhancement, improved bone density, and reduced risk of heart disease. The volume and intensity of the exercise will be tailored to your exercise history and health goal. We will start at a level right for you and continually progress in a safe and structured programme.
As people age, they lose muscle mass, so strength training should be fundamental for all. I tend to focus on integrated, functional strength training using movements humans are designed to make but rarely do in our modern lives. Once you learn the correct technique we can add weights and other techniques to increase the intensity.
PRE AND POST NATAL TRAINING
Whether you are planning a pregnancy, have just discovered you are pregnant or are a new mum, I can help you stay fit, strong, healthy and pain-free. I have trained several clients through and post-pregnancy from several different starting points.
INJURY REHAB, BACK PAIN, AND POSTURE CORRECTION
I have trained clients to prepare and rehabilitate from several injuries and operations to minimise pain and speed recovery to full fitness. This has included knee replacement, ACL, MCL, hip replacement, broken collarbones and Achilles tendon operations.
In addition, the vast majority of clients have postural imbalances caused by modern working life and I work on mobility and strength to rebalance these. These are often linked to lower back pain and this is another area I focus on from our own personal and training experiences.
RUN, CYCLE AND TRIATHLON COACHING
Running, Cycling and Triathlon are passions and coaching specialties of mine. I have coached hundreds of clients to improve their performance in running, swimming and triathlon. I always start with a consultation and agree on goals to train for. I have trained clients of all abilities to run every distance from 5k to marathon and including Ride 100 Mile Cycles, Ironman and Olympic Distance Triathlon, Time Trials, Sportives and Charity Rides.
Each Personal Training session lasts one hour and the cost of a single session is £50.
